Iranian currency under attack    

            

New attack on the Iranian government by its own citizens took a humorous but very practical form.

All over Iran people are hand writing or stamping the currency with protestor’s slogans. From “Death to the dictator” to “the coup government has to resign” and anything in between, slogans depicting the current regime in a negative light are permanently inked to the bills in circulation. 

That has left the government with few choices:

1) Print new bills and replace the marked ones.  However, 70 million people can easily continue to stamp the bills faster than the government can print them. 

2) Order the banks not to accept the marked bills.  This will effectively bring the Iranian economy to an abrupt and complete halt.  70% of Iran economy, and 100% of its black market is run by Iranian Revolutionary Guards; they need the currency to survive as an institution and maintain power.

3) Finally and most likely outcome; the Iranian government has to live with a currency in which each and every individual bill carries an insult to its leaders, its legitimacy, and its form of government.
