Iranian claimed the Day for Iran

Qods day (September 18), is a government sanctioned protest in support of Palestine and in opposition of the Israel occupation of Palestine.

                                                                                                                  Old News

Every year for the last thirty years, government organized protesters have taken to streets with signs and slogans such as “Death to Israel”,  “Death to USA”, “free Palestine”, etc. Although hardly anyone outside Iran knows about Qods Day, it is a big propaganda day for the Iranian government and thousands of its well organized followers.

However, this year Iranians came out in millions and claimed the day for Iran. Chants like “Not Ghaza, Not Lebanon, I give my life for Iran” could be heard from northern city of Tabriz to Tehran.  The confirmed list of cities that protested against the regime included Tehran, Isfahan, Tabriz, Shiraz, Rasht, Ahvaz, Qom, Mashhad and Kerman. In the holly city of Qom, the focal center of religious learning of the Shi'a, shots were fired.

The Tehran protest was estimated in millions by Al Jazeera and callers from Tehran. The ABC News reported: "There were so many opposition supporters that the police were outnumbered and couldn't act.”

Lack of government supporters was so obvious that protesters start chanting “Liar, liar where is your 63%”. Referring to 63% votes that Ahmadinejad claimed to receive in the recent election.

Both Karroubi and Mousavi were marching with protesters, as well as Khatami who was attacked by hardliners, photo bellow:

"THE EVIL HAS LANDED"

Thank you all for showing up in New York in solidarity with Iranian people. Although more than one factions were present and despite the fact the Iranian government agents and their agitators tried to use one against another, the message that was projected was loud and clear:

“WE ARE WITH YOU, WE ARE UNITED AND WE ARE GREEN”
